SCAFFOLDING ACCIDENTS

Scaffold Accident & Injury Compensation Claims

Law Society Accredited - Practice Management Standard
Law Society Accredited Personal Injury Solicitors

Our specialist Scaffolding Accident Claims Solicitors can help you with everything you need to secure the financial settlement you are entitled to as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Scaffolding accidents can affect not only those working on the platform but also anyone near or beneath the structure, who are at risk of being struck by falling objects or crushed if the scaffold itself collapses.

Anyone working on the scaffolding platform faces numerous hazards including slipping or tripping on the platform, falling from a significant height and being electrocuted or burned if the scaffolding is located too close to overhead power lines.

From minor cuts and bruises to more serious breaks and fractures, the resulting injuries can be wide-ranging and in the most severe of cases can have far-reaching and long-lasting consequences, particularly in instances where brain or spinal injuries have been sustained. It is therefore essential that you are able to claim compensation to cover your medical costs, loss of earnings and to help you on the road to recovery.

At PSR Solicitors, we are highly proficient in helping clients who have been injured at work and can act on your behalf to access the support, healthcare and compensation that you deserve on a No Win No Fee basis.

Whatever has happened, don’t suffer in silence. Contact us today and let us take care of your scaffolding injury claim.

Scaffolding Accidents Statistics...

Anyone employed in the construction industry understands only too well just how dangerous the job can be.

NASC's 2019 Safety Report documents and analyses accident and injury statistics for its full contracting members – representing more than 16,700 UK scaffolding operatives – in 2018.

Overall, there was a 27% rise in the number of incidents, from 89 in 2017 to 113 in 2018. This was the highest it has been since 2012.

Scaffolding's potential for tragic injuries – whether to construction workers, pedestrians, or others – is the reason that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), in conjunction with the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation, has established extensive and detailed safety rules for erecting, dismantling, altering, inspecting and supervising scaffolding operations.

There are all manner of hazards involved and workers are frequently put in harm's way due to the inherent risks of working at height or problems with the scaffolding itself. If you have been hurt in a scaffolding-related accident then you need to take legal advice from specialist accident at work solicitors.

Scaffolding Injury Compensation

If you have been seriously injured in a scaffolding accident at work that wasn't your fault we understand that you may be feeling anxious, worried and overwhelmed. But you no longer need to cope alone.

PSR Solicitors have the skill and experience required to obtain the full amount of compensation you are entitled to and to ensure swift access to the very best medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Securing the maximum amount of compensation available to you is paramount in recognising the harm that has been done, protecting you financially, maintaining your independence and giving you the best chance of a quick and full recovery.

If your accident was solely or partially down to the actions of someone else then you are entitled to claim compensation for:

  • Medical treatment including rehabilitation and counselling.
  • Specialist equipment where necessary including adaptations to your home or vehicle to help you to live as independently as possible.
  • Loss of earnings while you recover and in the future if you are no longer able to work to the same level as before.
  • Any additional expenses that you have incurred as a result of your accident and injury.

Your compensation award is designed to return you to the position you were in before the accident so put your case in the hands of the experts for the best chance of winning your claim.

For more information on the likely value of your Accident at Work Compensation, please take a look at our Personal Injury Claims Calculator.

Your legal rights at work

All employees are protected by the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and your employer is legally obliged to provide you with a safe working environment including protective clothing, competent co-workers, sufficient training and well-maintained equipment, which must be regularly checked to guarantee it is in full working order and fit for purpose.

According to the HSE:

“All employees should be competent for the type of scaffolding work they are undertaking and should have received appropriate training relevant to the type and complexity of scaffolding they are working on.”

“Employers must provide appropriate levels of supervision taking into account the complexity of the work and the levels of training and competence of the scaffolders involved.”

If your employer fails in any of their responsibilities to you and you suffer an accident or injury as a result, then you will be entitled to make a claim against them.

Many of our clients worry about the impact of this but your employer will have insurance to cover any compensation and won’t have to pay from their own pocket.

It is illegal for your employer to make you redundant or harass you at work as a result of any legal action and we are here to fully advise and support you on this matter.

Paul Rossiter

Managing Director

I am the Managing Director of PSR Solicitors. After working in various law firms, both small high street firms and a larger practice in Manchester, I saw a gap in the market for a high quality practice that had the same core high street values of being personable and approachable and combining them with the efficiency and professionalism of a larger practice.  PSR Solicitors was therefore established in 2009 in Shotton, Deeside with this aim. Since then PSR Solicitors has provided high quality legal services to local clients throughout North Wales and Cheshire.

I live in Chester with my young family and 2 dogs and enjoy regular holidays along the coast of North Wales.

I have recently been asked to join the board of trustees at Platform For Life, a mental health counselling charity in Chester. Good mental health is the foundation of a more fulfilled, happy and healthy life, yet many families struggle to access the help and support they need to achieve it. Platform for Life offers free local counselling and play therapy for families who would otherwise not be able to afford it.

Mark House

Solicitor - Head of Litigation

I completed my law degree and legal practice course at Nottingham Law School, before qualifying as a solicitor in 2004. I then worked at a specialist personal injury firm in the East Midlands and a leading regional firm, before joining PSR in 2017.

With PSR I've continued to specialise in acting for Personal Injury claimants and have developed a keen understanding of the procedures and tactics involved in pursuing a claim, as well as the difficulties and concerns faced by people who have suffered as the result of an accident.

Since 2014 I've been proud to help hundreds of people. I've represented the public in all manner of injury claims, including serious orthopaedic injuries, brain damage, and psychological trauma. I was instructed to deal with claims for clients in the aftermath of the Potters Bar rail crash and the Penhallow hotel fire.

In addition, I represent clients in relation to all manner of disputes. I have dealt with professional negligence claims, such as those against solicitors and builders. I have helped clients recover money which is due to them and to dispute invoices which have been sent to them. I have helped business defend claims against them. I have tackled neighbour and boundary disputes.

I live locally to the Colwyn Bay office, and outside of work, I enjoy taking advantage of the coastal and mountain outdoor activities which are available on the doorstep. I'm also heavily involved with an outdoor pursuits charity, which I find an enjoyable and rewarding way of using my free time.

Why Choose PSR Solicitors?

Our expertise

Your compensation claim is important to us.

The trauma and pain you have suffered should not be underestimated and although we cannot undo the harm that has been done, we take our responsibility towards helping you extremely seriously.

We want to counter the injustice of what has happened to you and are well-placed to achieve the most successful outcome possible. Many law firms now employ teams of unqualified fee earners to handle their compensation claims, often to the detriment of their clients and the levels of compensation awarded.

Without the necessary technical legal knowledge and understanding, claims are often significantly reduced or lost altogether but at PSR Solicitors we know that you deserve better. We guarantee you a fully qualified personal injury specialist working on your case throughout and who will be fully committed to achieving the very best results.

As part of our legal service to you, PSR Solicitors will:

  • Work diligently to secure the maximum amount of compensation.
  • Coordinate your medical care and rehabilitation.
  • Access specialist equipment to help with your recovery and independence.
  • Ensure that you are in receipt of any benefit payments to which you are entitled to following your injury.
  • Advise you on setting up a personal injury trust to protect and ring-fence your final lump sum.

As one of the leading law firms across North Wales and Cheshire, we are recognised by the industry for the professional legal service we provide.

We have been accredited by the Law Society for our personal injury provision and have been awarded the Lexcel Practise Management Standard, recognition which can give you peace of mind that PSR Solicitors are the legal experts you can trust.
