Solicitors for Advice on Wills, Trusts & Probate

Ensuring suitable financial provision is made for those you leave behind, and organising what will eventually happen to your estate, are amongst the most important legal steps you can make in life.  When you are beginning to reflect on these weighty matters of life and death, you need to talk to a qualified Wills & Probate Solicitor.

PSR Solicitors can answer any initial questions you may have, and we can also provide you with a totally professional service surrounding the Administration of your Estate.

A personal approach to estate planning

We understand that in each of our busy lives, it can be difficult to find the space to sit down and think about what will happen after you're gone, but it's vital to plan properly, both for your own peace of mind and for those you love around you.

Carefully considered estate planning will ensure your family and friends are provided for according to your wishes, and you have opportunity to make choices about whether to donate to good causes that you believe in.

The dedicated Wills & Probate Solicitors and Estate Planning team at PSR Solicitors work with clients across England & Wales from any of our multiple offices in North Wales and Cheshire.

Whenever we are instructed by an individual, we take a highly tailored approach; making sure that every eventuality and every need is thought through. We then robustly protect your wishes in a legally binding personalised document, meaning your money, possessions, property, and any other assets will be divided and shared out in the way you truly desire.

Planning for the future

Planning for the future is an important step for us all to take but especially crucial where children are involved. It is astonishing to think that over approx. 60% of adults across England & Wales do not have a Will.

For some, thinking about these arrangements is not easy, and some people may find the idea of speaking to a solicitor daunting, whatever the need.  At PSR Solicitors, we’re confident you will find our team approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. Simply put, we are people with families too.

A well-structured Will drafted by a qualified Wills & Probate Solicitor will minimise any delays surrounding the distribution of your estate and, remove any chances of confusion or disputes that could arise if your wishes are not clear or open to interpretation.

Platform For Life - Mental Health Charity Chester

https://www.platformforlife.org.uk/

Chester based Platform for Life started in 2017 from a small volunteer counselling service which helped young families experiencing multiple challenges, such as homelessness, debt and parenting difficulties.  We could see that poor mental health was preventing these families from overcoming their challenges and that the cycle of poor mental health was often being passed down from one generation to the next. This was painful to witness and drove a key aim of our charity- to break the cycle of poor mental health being passed down to the next generation and improve individuals’ life chances.

Any donations and bequests to our charity would greatly help us with our mission.

Ray Bowden 5 Star Google Rating

I contacted PSR after hearing about their efficiency and expert knowledge. They charge a relatively small fee and made the process completely stress free.

I have dealt with many firms over the years, and this firm has been on another level compared to others. The customer service, knowledge and speedy completion of the sale was much appreciated.

Our Estate Administration services

Superb client-care is a cornerstone of all that we do. We are proud of the service we deliver, and our Google reviews are a testament to our approach and the lasting effects we have on our clients.

Taking action to sort out what will happen once you’ve gone is easy to put off but take the first step today by calling our friendly Wills & Probate Solicitors in North Wales or Cheshire.  Writing a will with the support of a qualified Estates Administration Solicitor at PSR Solicitors can be your gift to your loved ones and will make things as easy as possible for them when your time has come.

Our Wills & Probate Solicitors in Cheshire & North Wales have years of legal expertise to help you with:

Will Writing

Preparing a robust legal document to instruct & direct how your estate and assets will be divided.  A Will Writing Solicitor will help you ensure the protection of assets for a spouse, partner, and children. A Will can also be used to direct instructions where you desire someone to be excluded from benefitting from the distribution of your estate’s value.

Probate & Grant of Probate

Our Probate Solicitors will administer and manage the Probate process of the process of identifying, retrieving, accessing, and allocating the assets of a deceased person.

Will Disputes and Contentious Probate

Our Will Dispute Solicitors have many years’ experience dealing with the complex legal issues which can arise from contested probate and will disputes.

If you are considering contesting a will or are currently involved in any type of will dispute or contentious probate claim, then getting specialist advice from an expert Will Disputes Solicitor will enable you to progress your case with the best representation in your corner.

Living Wills & Advance Directives

An advance decision; also known as a ‘living will’, or an advance decision to refuse treatment (ADRT), are decisions you can make now, about how you might wish to be cared for in the future, i.e. you may wish to refuse a specific type of treatment at some time in the future.

We can support your future needs by creating a legally binding document that lets your family, carers, and medical professionals, know and understand your wishes about refusing treatment if there comes a time when you're unable to make or communicate those decisions yourself.

Intestacy & Inheritance Act Claims (When no Will exists)

When people die without leaving a will, their estate becomes ‘intestate’ and the distribution of assets belonging to the estate must follow Intestacy Rules. This can be discussed with one of our Probate Solicitors if you would like further information.

We can represent you in court hearings if you feel you should benefit from an estate where someone has died but no Will exists to support your claim.

Court of Protection

If a relative or loved one is no longer able to take responsibility for managing their affairs, we can help you to make an application to the Court of Protection.

Inheritance Tax Planning

Inheritance tax planning helps ensure you make the most of any exemptions or reliefs, taking advantage of any recent changes in the rules, and avoiding pitfalls and minimise inheritance tax liability.

Severing Joint Tenancy of a Property

There are two ways to hold a property owned by more than one person:

Joint Tenants

This is where a property is owned jointly in equal shares, so each owner owns 100% of the property. On the death of one of the owners, the property will automatically be left to the survivor whether or not you have separated or divorced. The survivor can then deal with the property in whatever way he/she chooses.

Tenants in Common

This is where the property is owned in separate shares such as 50% each. On the death of one of the owners, their share does not automatically pass to the surviving owner and would pass in accordance with a will or if no will, their next of kin.

If you are married and sever the joint tenancy on  a property, it means that each person owns 50% of the property and so you can make provisions in your will to give your 50% to the beneficiaries of your will (possibly children) and also let the survivor live in the property and have a right to sell it and move while only owning 50%.

Estate Administration

Following someone’s death, acting as a personal representative in estate administration proceedings can be one the most difficult situations to find yourself in, especially when it involves the loss of a partner or member of your family.

As well as wrestling with the emotional aftermath of bereavement, for some, there may also be financial concerns (particularly where the deceased had been responsible for the majority of household income) or other pressures mounting on the family unit. At this time, people can find themselves in unfamiliar legal territory, occupied with matters they may have little or no experience with.

This is where the Wills & Probate Solicitors at PSR, can help ease the burden, provide clear advice, legal expertise, and a comprehensive Estate Administration service you and your family need.
