The St Asaph Property Market

Set on the banks of the River Elwy, St Asaph is surrounded by beautiful countryside and offers stunning views across the Vale of Clwyd.

Home to the smallest cathedral in the UK and with a population of barely more than 3,500, St Asaph is considered the second-smallest city in Britain. Known locally as the ‘City of Music’, St Asaph is home to the North Wales International Music Festival, a festival celebrating primarily classical music held annually in September/October in St Asaph Cathedral, as well as other locations around the city.

Despite its comparatively small size, St Asaph offers an impressive selection of residential property types, including a good selection of detached properties, plenty of attractive mews’ houses, bungalows, apartments, and terraced houses.

With the most sought after properties generally found to the east of the river, detached properties can range from around £200,000 to over £1 million.

Reputed to be the smallest Anglican cathedral in Great Britain, St Asaph Cathedral is hugely popular with both tourists and locals alike. One of the highlights is the award-winning gravel garden, winner of a British Association of Landscaping Industries award. Other garden areas include a beautiful walled garden, formal and informal garden areas, and no less than 3 separate water gardens.

For those who enjoy golf, St Asaph is home to North Wales Golf Course and Driving Range. With a well-maintained course and a driving range with state of the art automatic tees, this is the most popular golf complex in the area. Open to everyone, including children aged 2+ and with no dress code, it’s ideal for families and golfing fanatics alike.
