Shotton is a thriving, multicultural town located on the border of England and Wales and situated on the banks of the River Dee.
Once famed for its steel industry, it is now home to the Deeside Enterprise Zone, which covers 2,000 hectares and has the highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the UK, providing employment for the many English and Welsh people who live nearby. In addition, there are large Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Turkish, Russian and Hungarian communities who call Shotton, and the wider area of Deeside, their home.
