Solicitor - Head of Personal Injury
Since joining PSR Solicitors in March 2013 I opened and managed our Rhyl office and became head of the Personal Injury department shortly thereafter. I therefore have responsible for managing Person Injury cases throughout the firm. In January 2024 I relocated to our head office in Chester.
I completed both my Law LLB and LPC degrees at Cardiff University, graduating in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Thereafter, I completed my 2-year training contract at a firm based in Cardiff. I was retained by this firm as a Criminal Defence Solicitor until I decided to relocate up to North Wales.
As an experienced Personal Injury Solicitor, I represent Claimants in all manner of personal injury case work including injuries as a result of Road Traffic Accidents, Accidents at Work, and Occupiers Liability Accidents. I handle all types off personal injury claims from the minor right through to complex more serious injury claims.
Outside of work I enjoy running and hiking, going to the gym, travel, cooking and am a keen rugby fan.
Chester Office
In November 2012, Mark Pointer from Leighton Buzzard died after being crushed by a company vehicle at Travis Perkins Trading Company Limited in Milton Keynes.
The company had earlier pleaded guilty at Amersham Crown Court to two Health and Safety offences. In sentencing the company, Judge Justin Cole said it “was an accident waiting to happen”.
Mr Pointer was loading planks onto the roof rack of his Land Rover, when he fell backwards after it appeared one of the cargo straps he was using snapped. He fell to the ground where he was run over by a company vehicle operating in the yard and died from crushing injuries.
The company initially denied the link between the offences and the death but subsequently conceded.
Milton Keynes Council, which investigated the case, said the company had “failed to ensure loading and unloading activities were undertaken in a safe manner in a safe area”.
Environmental Health Team Leader, Martin Brown commented: “Individuals falling whilst loading and unloading vehicles is a common risk. While the term ‘health and safety’ is often incorrectly associated with trivial matters, true health and safety breaches can have devastating consequences as they did on this occasion.”
The company was also ordered to pay nearly £115,000 prosecution costs.
