Our client was walking to university in Bangor when a car travelling too fast around the roundabout lost control and ploughed into her. She suffered serious injury to her knee as a result of the collision.
We received instructions in relation to this claim in December 2014 and submitted the claim to the defendant’s insurers thereafter. Although admission of liability was received from the defendant’s insurers in January 2015, given the severity of injury the medical evidence was complex.
Throughout the case we liaised with a barrister to provide advice as to quantum of compensation. In October 2016 the defendant’s made an offer of £15,000 which was rejected. The defendants then made a further offer of £17,500 which was also rejected.
We issued the matter in court in October 2017 and a trial was listed between for the latter end of 2019. The defendants then considered the matter further and made a final offer of £36,000. This offer was subsequently accepted by the client and the matter settled in December 2018.
After a long and hard-fought case and as a result of our client employing our specialist services we obtained the best outcome for our client.
As a result, our client obtained maximum compensation for her pain, suffering and loss of amenity.
