£1,750 for Child Burns Injury Claim in Manchester Restaurant

PSR Solicitors have successfully obtained £1,750 for a child from Holywell who was injured due to an accident in a restaurant in Manchester Trafford Centre.

The circumstances of the accident were that our client and her family were visiting the Trafford Centre and had decided to go for a meal in the food court. The family ordered two desserts for two of the children. Specifically, an ice-cream sundae was ordered off the children's menu which should have come with two doughnuts. However, because the restaurant was out of doughnuts, the dessert came with a substituted triangle of hot fudge cake with a hot caramel sauce. The server came to their table and placed the hot dessert in front of the young child. There was no warning to the parents regarding the temperature of the dessert. As our client picked up the cake using her right hand she suffered a severe burn to her fingertips. 

We received instruction in relation to this matter in August 2018 and subsequently submitted the claim to the Defendants. Liability was admitted by the defendants for this incident in November 2018 and we thereafter obtained our client’s medical records and instructed a medical expert to prepare a report on our client’s injuries.

On receipt of the Claimant’s medical evidence, the Defendant made an offer of £1,750 and the matter was concluded.
