Tripping Accident In A Hospital In Rhyl

£25,000 Compensation Awarded

The Rhyl office of PSR Solicitors has recently concluded a successful claim for compensation as a result of a tripping accident which occurred in Glan Clwyd Hospital in 2013.

The Claimant was an employee of the hospital who tripped due to a ‘bubbled’ vinyl flooring on a ward. As a result of her fall she suffered a fairly severe ankle injury, resulting in a period of time off work.

Although liability was admitted by the NHS, the case involved complex medical evidence having to be obtained from 2 experts.

We were unable to agree a quantum figure with the Defendants and as such issued Court proceedings to progress matters. The matter was listed for trial in July 2017.

3 weeks before trial the Defendant’s made an offer to settlement the Claimant’s case which was duly accepted by the claimant.

This case took a long time to resolve, but resulted in a very reasonable settlement award.
