Slipping Accident At A Petrol Station in St Asaph
Broken Ankle After Petrol Spillage Slip
PSR Solicitors have successfully obtained £9,500 for an individual who was injured as a result of a slipping accident at a garage in St Asaph on the 1st April 2014.
The circumstances of the accident at the St Asaph petrol station were that our client was in attendance at a petrol station in St Asaph at approximately 10.30am. Our client had attended the garage in order to use the drive through car wash facilities. Whilst using the car wash both of our client’s wing mirrors were pushed inwards and as such shortly after exiting the car wash our client exited her vehicle and proceeded to walk around her vehicle to pull out her wing mirrors. Whilst walking around the boot of the car she walked through a puddle of water which caused her too suddenly and without warning slip and fall heavily backwards. Following the accident our client’s husband attended at the car wash and identified a green substance within the puddle of water.
Our client was immediately assisted by the attendants at the garage and was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital where it transpired she had suffered a very severe dislocation to her right ankle along with three broken bones to the tibia and fibula. The severity of our client’s injuries required her to undergo an operation to re-position and plate the bones back together.
Following our commencement of the case against the defendant’s liability was denied and we thereafter issued court proceedings against the defendants to progress matters. In summary, we alleged they had failed to maintain the car was hand the area, had failed to insert adequate drainage and had failed to adequately clean.
Shortly before trial the defendants put forward an offer of 50% liability which was duly accepted by the claimant. Thereafter quantum of the case was negotiated and our client obtained a figure of £9,500 compensation
