Solicitor jailed for conning lottery winner

Chester Crown Court recently heard a case involving a solicitor, Nicholas Hayward, who acted for a former lottery winner who scooped a prize of 9.5 million in 2005. Police became suspicious over the solicitor's dealings with the lottery winner and launched a probe before discovering that the sum of £14,000 had been taken by Mr Hayward.

In Court Mr Hayward admitted money laundering, perverting the course of justice and also prejudicing a money laundering investigation.  His jail sentence is for a term of 12 months.
