Law Society attacks motor insurance industry

The Law Society chief executive Desmond Hudson has gone on the offensive against the insurance industry following its continued lobbying of the present Government over the so called compensation culture. 

The latest attack comes in relation to whiplash claims which the industry blames for increasing motor insurance premiums.  This is despite the fact that insurance industry profit from referring such whiplash claims onto solicitors in the first place.

Anybody who works in the industry will know that such cases have to be proven and argued in a similar way to every other type of claim based upon the law.  It also has to be remembered that the vast majority of claimants are genuinely injured and according to the law of England and Wales are entitled to compensation for the pain and suffering they have been put through due to another's negligence.

We cannot help feel however that the Government is siding with the insurance industry over solicitors and their injured clients.
